Key Responsibilities
The role blends strategic oversight with hands-on audit leadership. Core responsibilities include:
- Sponsoring and overseeing a portfolio of audits, helping teams scope, plan, and execute high-quality audits along with remediation plans that address the most serious risks
- Working across GPO while collaborating with external partners and internal teams such as Operations, HRSI, Sustainability, Legal, and Risk Management to identify regulatory and human rights compliance risks tied to Amazon’s supplier base
- Reviewing new and existing suppliers to ensure they meet human rights compliance, safety, and terms-of-service standards, and investigating suspicious supplier or driver activity that could pose a risk to Amazon or its customers
- Driving cross-functional risk and controls assessments aligned with company strategy, often making independent judgment calls about a supplier’s integrity even with limited information available
- Drafting responses to high-priority and critical issues in partnership with worldwide Operations and HRSI teams
- Managing day-to-day operational issues while continuously looking for ways to simplify and improve existing processes
- Engaging directly with vendors during the audit process to re-establish clear expectations around their roles and responsibilities
- Defining and executing standard communication pathways for vendors, along with clear escalation procedures when issues arise
Education Qualification
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design, or a related field is considered a strong advantage, though not mandatory at the base qualification level.
Experience Requirement
This position requires a solid foundation of professional experience across several areas. Candidates are expected to bring:
- A minimum of five years of program or project management experience
- At least five years of supply chain experience
- Five or more years of overall relevant professional experience
- Demonstrated experience using data and metrics to identify and drive improvements
- Experience owning program strategy end-to-end, including delivery and communicating results to senior leadership
- Experience within a procurement organization, handling vendor management, contract management, negotiating complex purchases, and bidding processes
- Experience in procurement, budgeting, forecasting, or asset management
- People management and team development experience
- Strong communication skills across both technical and non-technical audiences, including executive-level stakeholders
- Working knowledge of collecting data from log files, data stores, SQL, and APIs
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates with the following additional experience will be given preference during the selection process:
- Two or more years of experience driving process improvements
- Twelve or more years of experience in public policy, government relations, community relations, public affairs, or corporate social responsibility

Compensation and Benefits
The base salary for this role varies by location, ranging from USD 103,900 in Nashville to as high as USD 160,000 in Houston and Arlington, depending on experience and qualifications.
